Adventure Sun Valley is a premier rafting outfitter and its owner Brad Frei is THE AUTHORITY when it comes to rafting, kayaking and fishing trips on Idaho’s legendary Middle Fork of the Salmon River.

When Brad approached Wild Web West for a custom designed online presence, it was with a gleam in my eye that I took on this hefty project.   The old static site had not been properly search engine optimized, lacked photos, and the content was just minimal.

We established the plan and start date and on February 1st, the project was launched.    Based on the target audience, I determined from the start that a website formatted to scale for any display device, from iPhone and iPad to Droid smartphones, laptops and desktop computers  – would best serve Brad’s more affluent audience.   Fortunately, Genesis Framework developers had recently begun to release new and updated child themes coded for the hottest new custom style sheet formatting called “Responsive Design”.

I selected Streamline Child Theme and customized it a bit to include the Genesis Responsive Slider as well as three featured slots to emphasize Brad’s main focus.  We also have a list of blog posts lower on the page with great photos and information about “Activities” while on a Middle Fork Rafting trip.   The pages were organized for easy navigation and lots of re-writing of content to incorporate the need for rich keyword relevance.   There are lots of outfitters achieving sponsored “paid” rankings for Middle Fork Salmon River.  Its an extremely competitive keyword phrase.  The site is ranking well for variations of “Middle Fork Salmon River” but for organic free rankings on the first page, the site will need a little more time to establish favorable relevance and those who are paying large fees for click throughs on that search term.
