Central Idaho River Shuttles owner Pat Sullivan did his homework. Asking peers in the community who they would recommend for a web designer, it seemed with an overwhelming majority, he was steered to this custom designer, Mary Mangold of Wild Web West. Word of mouth advertising has always carried me through and I thank those anonymous referrals for their kind words of support.
This custom designed WordPress site is built with Genesis Framework and Outreach Child Theme which is responsive and worked well. The only adjustments I had to make, aside from a custom style, was the position of the logo. My customer provided me with a logo that deserved to be the focal point. If I shrunk it down too much, I feared losing the design and diminishing its bold presence. So I created a separate widget area next to the slider on the home page, and used the top part of the left sidebar on other pages to position the image as a widget. The pages have been search engine optimized, as well as images. I created maps for the featured routes using Bing Maps which was by far much more user friendly than google maps for what I needed to achieve. I’m going to have to overcome the strong search engine positioning of a site called “River Shuttles“. Through additional inbound links, link popularity and a few other techniques, I know I will meet the challenge to see CentralIdahoRiverShuttles.com appear on the first page of rankings for “Idaho River Shuttles“. It has excellent ranking already for “Central River Shuttles” and of course “Central Idaho River Shuttles” and other keyword phrases.
